Food Labelling Law in Sri Lanka

Food label is an important component in a food package for both manufacturers and consumers. It is the the ultimate source of information for consumers and mode of delivering the information for manufacturers. Food label is crucial in terms of both commercial as well as food safety. Therefore, invariably food label is regulated by state laws. In Sri Lanka, Food Label is regulated by the Food (Labelling and Advertising) Regulations, 2022 of the Food Act No 26 of 1980. This book describes the food labelling law in Sri Lanka in detail, with illustrations. The book will be useful for food manufacturers, distributors and packers as well as to law enforcing officers and consumers. All relevant components in a food label is covered and described. The book could be use as a guide for food labelling law in Sri Lanka.
