Trivialities chronicles one evening in the life of Pauly and a cast of unusual friends as they gather in a Tokyo bar in the mid 1990's. The comic episodes of the evening are countered by Pauly's running commentary on his own tragic marriage. Though wrapped in an absurd humor, Trivialities is in fact a biting treatise on modern life as we have come to accept it.
