Born of the Sun The Story of Akhenaton

Author Ehrton heard the call of the pharaohs and responded with his new book entitled, Born of the Sun. He has constructed an exiting and entertaining version of the life and times of one of Egypt's greatest pharaohs. To prepare the young boy for his new role as Pharaoh, his mother and the High Priest, Miatron, send him to the caves of the ancient masters, where he is trained. This gives him the strength to stand up to the corrupt Amun priests. Upon his deathbed, Amunhotep III names Akhenaton as his successor. However, power-hungry priests, and disloyal government officials plague the new king's rule. Despite the obstacles in his way, Akhenaton manages, with the strong support of his mother and his Queen, Nefrefiti, to make his dream a reality. The king constructs a City of Light — a sacred temple, a monument to his rule and his beliefs, which was eventually destroyed, obliterated along with his name.
