DICK TURPIN No.12 DICK TURPIN IN A HOT CORNER, or Hemmed in on All Sides

In the twelth volume of this series., a young Jacobite, Lawrence Harcourt, seeks the assistance of Dick Turpin in finding two treasure chests, which were hidden by Lawrence’s late father in the Harcourt ancestral home, Roxmoor Hall. The task is a difficult one, because the hall no longer belongs to Lawrence, who is a known supporter of the Stuart cause. As a result, the hall has been expropriated by the King, who has given it to a bootlicking royalist, Jabez Claye. Needless to say, Dick Turpin succeeds in finding the hidden treasure, and helps Lawrence to escape to France.
