The "Three Constantly Read Articles"
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The "Three Constantly Read Articles" by Chairman Mao, "Serve the People", "In Memory of Norman Bethune", and "The Foolish Old Man Who Removed the Mountains" are very short pieces that teach us how to be Communists.
What does it mean to serve the people? To put the people's interests and wellbeing above our own? To correct our mistakes? What about sacrifice? Internationalism? Perseverance? All these questions and more are answered in under 50 pages.
In addition to those three texts, there is a brief intro by Indian communist Charu Mazumdar.
At the end, there is an article from the Cultural Revolution called "Study Serve the People". Originally published in the magazine of the People's Liberation Army, it helps us think about and understand more deeply "Serve the People". This is a great short book for a beginning study group!
These three texts were called the "Constantly Read Articles" in China because of how often they were read by the people, but particularly soldiers, to remind them of the proper revolutionary spirit and love for the people they served.
Thanks for reading this silly description, now read the book! We put those extras in it for you :)
