“La Généalogie de la Miss Ourelia” chronicles the genealogy of Mary Ourelia Lemoine [Oglesby] (1891 – 1995) who was born in Colfax, Louisiana. She is the maternal grandmother of the author, Cheryl Batey Nyberg. It covers the immigration of Miss Ourelia’s ancestors beginning with Olivier Charbonneau & Marie-Marguerite Garnier in 1659; and Michel Lemoine & Marie Guenard in 1720. It also tracks the history and immigration of the Charbonneaus to Quebec and the Lemoines to La Louisiane, both colonies of Nouvelle France. Time period covered is 1604 – 1891.
