Chevening Together - A collection of insights on life during the Coronavirus Pandemic:
On the 20th March 2020, with just two days’ notice, all schools in the United Kingdom were closed in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Three days later, the whole country was put into lockdown, changing the way we lived our lives completely. All of a sudden we weren’t going to school every day, we weren’t seeing our friends, teachers weren’t seeing their pupils. It has been easy to feel isolated and no longer connected to our colleagues and friends.
The lockdown period has been tough for many yet there have also been many happy memories made. Without a doubt we have all had time to pause and reflect on life now, our lives as they have been and what the future may look like.
This book is a collection of those reflections; stories, poems, pictures and more which capture the thoughts and feelings of our Chevening community at this strange time.
A massive thank you goes out to everyone who has contributed: children, parents, family members, staff, governors and members of Chevening Church.
In a time when we cannot be together physically, this book has allowed us to unite as our Chevening family.
