The Blow of Nemesis & Other Short Stories

Steve sat cross- legged with a glass of cocktail wine gisting with a friend who sat opposite him. As he put the glass to his mouth to take another sip, his eyes caught a curvaceous figure coming through the door into the party hall. With his mouth opened he dropped the glass he was holding on the table and gave the lady a steady and desirous look. He hardly concentrated on the conversation they were having. As though the lady noticed that Steve was staring at her. She went to a corner of the hall stool and returned a stare at Steve.
