Motion Mountain - vol. 6 - The Adventure of Physics - The Strand Model - A Speculation on Unification
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This is the sixth and last volume (452 pages, edition 27, February 2015) of the Motion Mountain physics text. This volume, in contrast to the five preceding ones, presents a speculative topic: after explaining why past attempts at the unification of physics have failed, it introduces the so-called strand model. The strand model contains general relativity, quantum theory, and the standard model of particle physics.
In addition, the strand model solves all those questions of physics that were still open so far, such as the calculation of the fine structure constant. The model makes numerous testable and surprising predictions. The predictions agree with all known experiments. Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster ride through modern physics and recent research!
The text, printed in black and white, is written in an easy style, uses little mathematics, and is accessible to undergraduates, teachers and anybody who is interested in the foundation of physics.
Enjoy the reading!
