The Council of the Alps

This book offers two things: a tour into the beauty of the Écrins National Park (France), presented by a collection of pictures I took in the autumn of 2020, and a series of thoughts that resulted from visiting various areas of this extraordinary natural reserve. Natural reserves are our best allies and our last line of safety in face of a world environmental crisis. They are also the most incredible sources of beauty on this planet. We must act swiftly to protect existing reserves effectively from ourselves, and create many more reserves to stop biodiversity loss. Nature conservation and contemplation can come together and become our travel companions across the reserves that are silently supporting our own existence on this planet. Christopher Córdova.
