Workplace Rebel: A Voice for the Working People

Workplace Rebel is the autobiography of a working warrior who gave both barrels everyday, no matter whether he was loading frozen pork bellies on the docks, cutting quarters of beef in a meat-packing plant, or working with dangerous inmates in a maximum security prison in Alaska. He often stood in his own way because of alcoholism (which he overcame by age 24) and hair-trigger temper, behaviors he’s developed to dull the pain of an abusive childhood. But with the help of God, his dear family, and many friends, he overcame all adversity — except the mesothelioma he contracted from unloading asbestos on the piers. Too bad no one warned him that inhaling asbestos dust could be life threatening. But the book is not about his cancer. It’s an inspirational message for anyone struggling with external and internal foes, whether it’s abusive bosses, addictions of any kind, suicidal tendencies, or merely the need to act out. Perseverance pays! And life, despite great pain, also offers sweet victories.
