Welcome to Kristy's Farm: Book 1

"Welcome to Kristy's Farm - Book 1" is the first in a series of books for teaching preschoolers, kindergarteners, or first graders how to read in a daycare, school, or home setting. The series gradually moves children from early preschool through third grade vocabulary, based on the Dolch Reading List. Accompanying workbooks are forthcoming. The series contains stories about life on a farm, full of interesting animal stories. Colorful illustrations on every page hold children's interest. Designed to take advantage of both phonic and sight reading skills, as the series progresses, multi-ethnic characters are introduced. The stories are based on real-life experiences on the author's farm. The author has had 38 years of success in teaching reading to young children, including those with learning disabilities. She holds degrees in elementary education, learning disability certification, and Montessori instruction.
