Keeping Things Centered

In March of 2007, three Red Bank Regional High School Visual and Performing Arts teachers came together to turn a dream into reality. Dr. Gretna Wilkinson brought the dream. When it threatened to become a fast-moving train, Mrs. Claudia O’Connor made sure the train stayed on its tracks. Ms. Stephanie Petrakos provided fuel for the engine. Together with our students, we present this compilation of works. These pieces represent a labor of love and solid commitment to a project that demanded the best of our creative efforts. Each piece was written, drawn, and photographed to honor senior citizens of the Red Bank Senior Citizen Center in the heart of Red Bank, New Jersey. The students sat with the seniors and diligently interviewed and recorded stories of their lives and experiences. The result is this creative portrayal of the students’ impressions.
