Set in the last half of the 21st century this novella takes place on a planet earth that has seen its 3rd, final and perhaps most redefining war. When Myth, Folklore and Ghost stories turn out to be fact not fiction, the rise of tensions and political fear results in an inevitable battle. Justin Beaucroft and Gina Shalit have little in common; they both do however know what it is to lose loved ones because of the war. Running to get away from the lives they no longer want but for very different reasons, their journeys intersect on a small island with an even smaller population. A shipping hub where people come and go but almost never stay they both do, managing to hold down mediocre jobs, even making a few friends. Throwing themselves into work they lead an uncomplicated life, but soon realize that they can’t run from their pasts, fears or each other for that matter. In time she helps him get over his guilt, he helps her to learn to let someone in again but most importantly they help each other to move on.
