The Un-Sophistication of Prayer

Enjoying Deeper Conversation with God

There are so many books on prayer or communicating with God, so what makes this one special? I’ve struggled with the concept of prayer, the word prayer, and its meaning. For years, I studied to learn the vocabulary and get the words right in my ears. But then, one day, the Blessed Holy Spirit revealed that God wants to commune with me, the real me. The words I speak should be the ones provided in the Holy Scriptures. I demonstrate faith and belief when I say those words from my heart and apply them to life situations. So, when we use the phrase un-sophistication, it does not downplay the majesty of scripture. The word is certainly not intended to lessen the wisdom of the King of Kings, but, it releases us from the burden of being perfect poets in prayer, from having perfect diction when we pray corporately, or even perfect grammatical structure. This book is designed to relieve the pressures we feel to be perfect in prayer.
