This is a translation from English to Syriac of the Chronicle of Joshua of Zuqnin, often referred to as Joshua the Stylite or Pseudo-Joshua the Stylite. It is an eye-witness account of the Persian Roman wars of Edessa, Amida, and Mesopotamia at the beginning of the 6th century AD. The author posits in his introduction that these wars and ensuing calamities laid the foundation for the eventual rise and success of Islam in the region.
