First, came the painting, "The Thin Gray Line." A thin gray line divides left and right. On the left is my symbolism of female color, and on the right male. The Triad of red, yellow, and blue symbolizes, through primary means, the full spectrum of light in traditional painting. Mixed, each side produces very similar earthy browns. The thin gray line represents the old adage, "Walking the Line of Life." I can do this alone, or with a woman. This is how I see it. Which is to mean, this is what I know about myself. I felt her pull in the orange, and myself humming very softly, in the blue. I'm not exactly sure what possessed me to write these poems but they came out of me as most poems do, without prerequisite! I was inspired by her. What can I say, love is free and when it comes it comes, and one must obey! So, that's what I did and why I did it. I'm an artist. Remember that. But, it's not to say I don't have feelings of this kind, for her. The poems are honest, and sincerely written to Taylor Swift. So, I wanted to share. The writing is honest and pure from me. After thoroughly listening to Taylor Swift I have changed many preconceived notions about what it means to me and what Pop art can do! Especially when someone has intently listened to independent rock most of his life, and not to too much pop music. If honesty is at all a voice to her in her songs (of which I know it to be) she will find, I hope, my book provocative, to say the least! I hope it finds her very much alive and doing well. May she be moved by it! Sincerely, Damon Freed
