One scholar simply declares the theme to be “Christ is Better.” One can certainly trace that theological thread through the book. There is no question the author proclaims the supremacy of Christ. But he goes further. Some suggest the Book needs to be read as a sermon or a series of sermons in which the great truths of the revelation of salvation in Christ is made known, and further, what are the implications for our lives. There are even some who suggest the central theme of Hebrews is the sanctification of the follower of Jesus.
