From a very early and therefore the most impressionable age, children are subjected to, for example, religious and political indoctrination. Subconsciously these impressions stay with children so that, even with advancing years, there remains a feeling of guilt if they think of certain religious sources as essentially histories rather than revealed sacred sources. What has been aimed at here is a realistic if necessarily brief, commentary on certain aspects of that history and to juxtapose some aspects thereof to what has in recent centuries been discovered about the universe and in science generally.
