Hiram, the chief architect of King Solomon, who put him in charge of the building of his famous place of worship, while on his way to the city of Bethel, from where he is supposed to purchase timber for the temple’s construction, mysteriously disappears, along with his dog. Hiram’s father, a shepherd, begins to dream that his son has been seriously harmed. He consequently decides to take his grandson Jaakobhi on an investigative journey, which will turn out to be a dolorous, yet ultimately soul-fulfilling, spiritual quest. Of the novel, Kathren Morton, New York Times Book Review critic, said that “There are many good writers in the world, but few as good as Daniel Deleanu, and HIRAM’S FATHER, this fascinating initiatory novel, entirely proves it.”
