Short Stories by Short People: Ninety-five Stories by Sixth-Grade Students of Berkshire Middle School

These stories exemplify how young authors can apply the writing process to create works suitable for a wide audience. The sixth-grade authors worked over a period of three months to turn rough ideas into finished stories. The result is a compiliation of stories on all topics. Humor, mystery, adventure, science fiction, historical fiction, horror, fantasy, fable, and even nonfiction are represented. The title was one of many suggested and voted upon by students. Had their language arts teacher allowed it, they they would have chosen a more humorous title for their work: Stories to Read on the John by Kids.
