About Daniel G. Scott

Daniel G. Scott has been writing in variety of forms for many years including poetry, fiction, radio and print journalism, academic writing and theatre with one play, Four Steps Closer a co-winner in the Saint John NB Bicentennial Playwriting Competition in 1983. He had his first poetry chapbook published in the early 1980’s and has used poetry in a number of his academic papers over the last two decades. With the encouragement of friends he has “come out” as a poet reading regularly at the open mike at Planet Earth Poetry in Victoria, attending poetry workshops and having single poems published in several places. In 2012-13, the year this book was produced he was on a year-long study leave from his position as Director of the School of Child and Youth Care, University of Victoria. He completed his PhD in 1998 and has been on the school faculty since 2000. He is married with five children and currently five grandchildren.
