“Racism is sin. The legacy of slavery, segregation, racial violence, and of the dehumanization of African Americans, black people and black bodies in this country continues to manifest itself today. Systemic racism, not only hurts African Americans as its main targets, but it also hurts and continues to hurt America, its image in the world and its economy. Americans cannot afford to continue to self-destroy. By limiting economic and educational opportunities to a large number of Americans, institutionalized racism tends to constrain the country’s economic potential, especially in the dire times of a global pandemic. 2020 will remain of the worst years for the world when reviewing the death tolls resulting from the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. This book is dedicated to all my White friends who have been asking me questions about racial justice, reconciliation, and healing. The killings of several unarmed black men and women made them realize that racism, violence, and indignities would not spare me. This book's goal is to equip them with adequate tools so they can be the true supporting allies. The fight for racial justice and economic freedom is like a marathon. It is like climbing a tall mountain. It will require coordination, patience and teamwork. To all my White friends, start listening to my stories!
