Recast: Vital Events Published in Variety in 1918 and 1919

Recast is transcriptions of births, marriages, divorces, and deaths that were reported in the weekly publication Variety between January 1918 and December 1919. This was a turbulent time in world history: the Spanish Flu Epidemic and the end of the First World War. There are over 240 entries for deaths from the flu in this publication, and a majority are for persons below the age of 40, who often did not have direct descendants (children). A generation of entertainers, gone. Includes a glossary, bibliography, research plan, and index.
