The Mills Family of Botetourt County, Virginia, Wayne County, Kentucky and western Missouri

This book covers nine generations of the Mills family, beginning with John Mills, Sr. of Botetourt County, Virginia. John Sr. received his first grant of land in the Great Valley of Virginia in 1743 and accumulated a large estate. His son, John Mills, Jr., followed in his father's footsteps. He owned broad acres in the valley before selling out by 1804 and moving to Wayne County, Kentucky. He died there in 1814. The book follows the story and descendants of one of his sons, Charles Ewing Mills, Sr. who moved to western Missouri. The book focuses on the descendants of Charles Ewing Mills, Jr. (1834-1917), Benjamin Newton Mills (1861-1935) and Benjamin Maxwell Mills (1900-1980).
