About Dave Siddall

As a long time supporter of Droylsden Football Club, and a keen local historian, I decided to research the history of my local club. When I began I had no idea how old the club was, and when I finally discovered the club was founded in 1892, I decided to cover the first 50 years. Unfortunately, 50 years on from 1892 brought me slap bang into the middle of World War 2, which wasn't a satisfactory way to end the book, so I decided to carry on and add 10 more years. However, with the interesting story that emerged towards the end of the 1940s and into the 1950s, I'm glad I did. M Ancestor's, My Family & Me, is a result of almost 30 years research into my family tree, which I started tracing in 1984. It is packed with old photographs, census records, birth, marriage and death certificates and army records etc. All these records are intermingled with the story of my family, with a few other items that I hope the reader will find to be of interest.
