The Ballad Of Darrel Godfrey

Darrel Godfrey was an asshole. In all honesty, he was the biggest asshole in the entire Wabash County, Indiana. If you looked the word “asshole” up in the Webster dictionary, it would have a picture of Darrel in there. If there was a poster boy for being an asshole, his face would be on the billboard. Yes, Darrel was an asshole of the highest order, the King of assholes – the President of assholes. To make matters worse, he was the town drunk. He would drink and make a fool out of himself, get tossed in the county jail, then be released two days later to start all over again. He was like the Otis Campbell of the town drunks, but this was no Mayberry and he was no movie star. Tonight was Halloween, and Darrel intended to have a special party for everyone in town; a night of shoplifting, robbery, vandalism, and even some "special treats" for the kids in town. What Darrel doesn't expect is, there is an old nemesis out there in the darkness, waiting for him, who intends to crash his party - forever.
