southern tip of Talbot lost to the sea
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Sharp's Island was a seven hundred acre island located in the Chesapeake Bay when the first explorers arrived from Virginia. This book details its history; initially controlled by William Claiborne of Virginia, the first patent was to John Bateman from the Province of Maryland; Sharp's Island was occupied by the British in the War of 1812; a resort hotel was built in 1895 during the steamboat era; and it all disappeared beneath the waters of the Bay many years ago.
