This work details accurately the genealogy of the Wilson's in Kintyre Scotland (early 1600's onwards) who claimed descent from the ancient family 'Wilson of Croglin' (1400’s).
The author is the direct descendent of Andrew Wilson the Covenanter. This book is aimed at Wilson’s who descend from West of Scotland families in Ayrshire, Dumfriesshire and Kintyre.
The author has used private family documents (Testaments, Trade Indentures, and private letters from the Admiralty) to complete the work, information that has not until now been available in the public domain.
The book also lists all of the Wilson's found in the Kintyre parish registers indexed as family groups, making it easy to research a Wilson ancestor from Argyllshire Scotland.
The author gives the most complete family tree of Wilson of Croglin (from 1400's), and discusses the following families and how they may relate to the Wilsons of Croglin; Wilson of Gairland, Wilson of Spango, Wilson of Polquhirter, and Wilson of Wanlockhead.
