The Process of Delivering Psychoeducational Assessment Results: A Manual for School-Based Practitioners
This ebook may not meet accessibility standards and may not be fully compatible with assistive technologies.
This manual addresses the challenge of how school psychologists help educate teachers, support staff, and parents about the interpretation and individual meaning of psychological testing in order to promote student excellence. Often assessment results are delivered in a brief meeting with many stakeholders at the table. How do we present high-stakes, complex information to multiple audiences in one sitting? This manual proposes a framework for presenting this information. Included here is a description of the use of psychological testing in the schools (deliberately focused on the WISC-IV as an example assessment tool that is sufficiently complex and commonly used), the use of the counselling concept of the working alliance as the core process by which debriefing meetings are managed, and some considerations of how to manage group process in the debriefing meeting.
