
This is the story of the San Francisco pioneer Mariani family. They were painters, hardware store owners, and ranchers Portola Valley, California. Vera Mariani was known as "Auntie Vera" to the author and she didn't want Vera's story to be untold. In telling Vera's story, the author was able to research the Mariani family during their time in San Francisco and how history made an impact on them and how they made an impact on history.
