Mills of the Upper Wandle

A detailed history of the mills and bleach grounds along the upper part of the River Wandle in the London Boroughs of Sutton and Croydon. A wide variety of water powered industry existed in this area producing flour, leather goods, snuff, paper, copper goods, gunpowder and many other items.
