A Discerning Eye

All thirty-two-year-old painter Anna Staski wants is to be left alone, in jealously guarded isolation, to work. But she is compelled to finish the incomplete series of Holocaust paintings, the Humanity series, that drove her famed father, Josef, to madness and suicide. Her actions estrange her from her sister Emily, her sole surviving relative, while drawing her inexorably closer to Daniel Marat, a seductive but troubled fellow artist. The completed paintings are shown, to public and critical acclaim – and with devastating consequences that threaten Anna’s suddenly fragile world.
