Thirty-five year old Sara Monroe is a late bloomer. Recently single after a tedious long term relationship, she struggles with depression, anxiety and self-confidence. When she meets a care-free seductive younger man who shows her how to "just have fun," she has the time of her life experiencing fresh feelings and emotions. Sara is unfamiliar with such encounters which most women experienced in their youth. She falls in love and finds a new kind of happiness that lifts her to new levels of confidence. However, her perception of reality is jolted and she ultimately learns that true happiness is found in loving herself.
With many comedic and touching moments, My Best Waste of Time embraces the notion that everything you do in life is significant. No matter what age you are, it’s never too late to overcome an insecurity and uncover the essence of one’s self.
