The ten year war against the living dead was declared over almost a decade ago, and the UN sent out many researchers to gather information from people and places around the world. Many of the stories of death and survival behind the statistics were immortalized in another author’s world acclaimed novel. Based on information gathered by him alone, it left out the stories that many other sources could have provided. More sensitive stories were buried here in the Black Records Storage Unit of the UN Governing Body. From this unknown location, I will attempt to disseminate to the world the stories that have been declared to be "sensitive". It is my opinion that most of what is buried here is being suppressed to avoid the embarrassment of disclosure and has nothing to do with national security.
This is the tale of the Port of Houston, where a single man built a unified community that governed themselves, surviving without any government assistance through the First Dead Winter and the following two Dark Years.
