One business fundamental that you need to understand is the 80/20 rule. I’ve heard about it for years. I suppose as soon as I was interested in business, I was introduced to the concept and shared the information with others. It's true that the 80/20 rule is a statistic in some ways. I seem to be more productive when working with concepts, ideas, and feelings. I personally don't enjoy math very much, although I did take a statistics college course back in the day and have studied profit and costs numbers a lot in my business career. My conclusion is the 80/20 rule is worth taking a look at. The advantage of the 80/20 rule is that you don't need to understand statistics to apply it, or believe in it. It is true that it has economics-based foundations using statistical analysis and “proved” by a man named Pareto. The good news is, the 80/20 rule is not merely meant for mathematicians and economic professors. It is meant to be used and understood by all of us.
