
Daniel Alton worked on farms in the summer and drove logs down river in Ontario during the wintertime. He helped build the Canadian Pacific Railway across western Canada and was in San Francisco during the Barbary Coast days as a contemporary of Jack London. He visited the Hawaiian Islands, Fiji Islands, Australia, and New Zealand at the start of the twentieth century. this book provides a graphic description of the arduous, hazardous, and exciting adventures he encountered during these important missions.
