The Treasure of Stella Bay, Doug Jordan’s latest opus, is a work of fiction, sort of a Tom Sawyer, but set 100 years later in 1960 rather than 1860, and Stella Ontario, rather than Hannibal Missouri. It is the story of a 11-12 year old boy, Alex Jorgenson, who struggles to come to terms with a new home, new school, new friends and a special girl, and finds the courage to confront his bullies, and his insecurities, and discover the treasure of Stella Bay. This is a book for all ages, youths to folks who were in their youth during the early ’60s.
