CRE - GEMINI - A BRIEF HEALTH EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN AGED 5-15 YEARS Version B - Children 8-11 Years

GEMINI is a primary school program for health care, to help children with problems of worry, discomfort and self-esteem. GEMINI encourages children to use their imaginations to help themselves, to learn things they never knew they knew and control things they never knew they could, to daydream on purpose. Children will gain confidence that they can contribute to the solution of their problems. It provides the child the opportunity to learn relaxation techniques, gentle imagery and self-regulatory strategies. Once mastered, these techniques become an invaluable resource that the child can adapt and use to face challenges through-out his/her lifetime. The program is best taught by the regular classroom teacher who knows the children well. It can also be taught by the school nurse or guidance counsellor and it can be used for individual counselling.
