Memoirs of Raising in the 5 G’s To Rising as a Graduate and a Guiser The Travails of a Jamaican Immigrant Book 4: Grayden Era

In this fourth book, readers will find me and my family living in more upscale accommodations rife with luxurious living in a three-bedroom half or more correctly stated, a third of a house. For the first time, we did not share bathrooms - it was heaven, or so we thought. Here me, my little sister Fernandie Aurora aka Chiquita, and my mom on the left flank, the Landmisses in the middle, and on the right flank was Yvonne, her little sister, Chiquita, and another family female family member. Yes, we had two Chiquita’s and women of child-bearing age in the house. To our dismay, we learned, too late in the game, when my sister became pregnant that Miss Campbell, was anti-babies and children living in her house. Additionally, she had a bunch of bloodhounds as I referred to her dogs. I could not enter the property without calling or more appropriately shouting (this was pre-house phone days for the poor) for Mom to come and get me. Another point of contention was the flying cockroaches that originated in a gully (yes, I am plagued by gullies) near my room, located close to the fence.
My involvement with cricket dominated this phase of my life as well as yet another escapade with the criminal world that could have caused me to fall hard and lose my life for the sake of watching a movie. This episode forced me to write a poem titled “De Lord A Fi Mi Shepherd”. Along the way of cricket, I encountered an episode of what Doris Duke sang about in her “To The Other Woman” saga and witnessed my first cricket “death” on the pitch. If that wasn’t enough of a shocker, I fell into a date rape trap, forcing me to write another poem wishing to be cast aside and left alone. After reflecting on the Songs about my father, David, A Tribute to Dad, and the Mental Health of my cousin, causing me to reverse positions and write more poems declaring that “This Is Me, Take Me, Or Leave Me”, followed by “The Bear and the Bull” questioning which me do you know? I also composed a poem dedicated to my sister, and an Ode to the Pioneers Reggae Group. The worst and the most important of all the stories in the Hostage-taking Mom because it provided the way out of Grayden with all its flying roaches, biting dogs, and child-hating stances. Read Book 5 to find out how we managed to head into a downtrodden path once again.
I hope that you will enjoy reading, not only this book but the entire seven-book series. I was sure to provide a background in each so that no reader or child is left behind.
