It was a fantastic idea, but then came the doubts, the tough questions and the dilemmas. The worst of these was: what if it all comes back as a solid unbreachable red light? Or what if it works out at first, to a small audience, but then one of the teams ends up being so good, it simply blows all the others away, and makes our year two plan die from a lack of interest? This is exactly what we did not wish to see, a team with no hope going up against a team so powerful that it is obvious to all, before the game even begins, that it will win this and all its games. Was this a problem we could solve, if we put our heads together? In the real world out there, it often seems like nature has been rather cruel in its setting of boundaries for world championships and Olympics. It often seems like a tournament of teams will contain a super force team who will obviously completely destroy all others, with the world’s top line-up of professionals, coached by the best people there is, going up against teams who are only there to make up the numbers, teams that might as well be representing tiny villages of less than 200 people each with no electricity or water, where all of them are impoverished and living in Mongolia, where there is nowhere at all to train !! You will forgive us using an extreme example to make our point, we do feel that most team sports operate in very criticisable circumstances, and we vow for our “utopian dream” project to be better to its participants in so many ways!!! We vow to be wise to this and to do our all in our design, right from the onset, to avoid this from happening. But how? It has never been attempted before, but we were ready to launch it and launch it big: welcome to a world where your ancestry groupings and your denomination of faith category are among the many teams vying for the top spots in a sport where the viewers are treated to something ultra special and new. Among the probable favorites initially are Team Catholic, Team Baptist, Team Methodist, Team No Religion, Team Unaffiliated Christian, Team Sub-Saharan Black African, Team German, Team Irish, English, Native American, or Team Italian Ancestry. If, among these, some sort of parity exists, some chance that each of these can be beaten by one of the others, then fine, we can proceed, but if one of them gets 95% of the very best NFL talent to work with and the others get 1% of the top players each, we have a problem. Time to solve the issue and flourish.
