"Esther's Inheritance" (1939) By Sándor Márai This is a great book about life and love; highlighting the archetypal powers of Love, Magic, Destruction and Innocence. It's also about having the wisdom to renounce a ridiculous relationship that has reached a dead-end; even if initially it was exciting, fun and bewitching. The story is about the relationship between Esther - a lady of integrity and virtue - and Lajos; a con artist, pathological liar and master of manipulation. The character of Lajos reminds me of my friend Vladimir Putin, who has been condemned by the Global Community for his illegal war on Ukraine. NB: We call on Hungary to support Ukraine in their just cause to defeat the evil Putin regime; so that Goodness, Human Rights (UDHR) and International Law can prevail. This includes the killing of lawyers, journalists and leaders; such as Alexei Navalny, Anna Politkovskaya, Stanislav Markelov, Boris Nemtsov and many others.
