Wandering At the End of the World
35mm of Lockdown in the UK
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
In late of 2020 I began pursuing the art of film photography. I was convinced that film could be no different than digital, save for the specific costs of obtaining film, developing, and scanning. It seemed like photography with extra steps. I very quickly learned that film was very much it’s own art form, to the point where I no longer consider film and digital photography equivalent art forms in the slightest. I found the much slower process of film to be incredibly intimate, and a rejuvenation for my artistic process. About a month into my exploration the world came to a grinding halt due to the spread of COVID-19. In isolation in the UK, I found myself with immeasurable time, and boredom. So I went online and purchased a ton of film, a scanner, and the chemicals needed to develop my own film. I spent my down time between March and July wandering the streets of Chester with my Nikon FM10 and some film. This book is a chronicling of what I saw out on those lonely days.
