Year-Reckoning: The 2024 Anglo-Saxon Heathen Wall Calendar
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This 2024 Anglo-Saxon Heathen wall calendar is based upon the Théodish Ríce’s careful reconstruction of the Anglo-Saxon Heathen lunisolar calendar that was described by the Northumbrian monk, Bede, in De Mensibus Anglorum, “The Months of the English.” Worked out for a full nineteen-year Metonic cycle, this reconstructed year-reckoning was first published on the Ealdríce’s Théod’s website sometime shortly after 2010 and later republished in 2019 by Háliggyld Books as part of Þórbeorht Hláford’s "By the Sun, the Stars, and the Moon: Anglo-Saxon Heathen Time-keeping."
Eþelwynn Hlæfdige has created a convenient wall calendar for the coming year (2024 CE, the fifteenth year of the Metonic cycle) that cross-references the Anglo-Saxon calendar with the Gregorian calendar. Year-Reckoning: The 2024 Anglo-Saxon Heathen Calendar is beautifully illustrated with full color pictures of contemporary Anglo-Saxon Heathen worship and includes several pages of information on Anglo-Saxon timekeeping drawn from "By the Sun, the Stars, and the Moon."
