Over two days, February 28 and March 1, 2006, leaders representing a variety of professional organizations gathered at the Reynolds School of Journalism to envision how new journalistic forms could better serve audiences. The participants imagined how journalists might use new technologies to attract and embrace a diverse range of audiences and publics. they discussed the leadership and shared vision these efforts in journalism will require.
The participants included Jennifer Carroll, the Vice President of New Media Content for the Gannett Co., James Kennedy, Vice President and Director of Strategic Planning for the Associated Press, Dori Maynard, President and CEO of the Maynard Institute, Jennifer Sizemore, Vice President of NBC News and Editor in Chief of MSNBC.com, Brian Storm, President of MediaStorm.org, and Dean Wright, Vice President and Managing Editor for Consumer Service of Reuters. This report documents the group’s conversations as they thought aloud together.
