Verses of My Life

Eileen Ridgers, born 1912 in Birmingham, England has, since an early age, written about her life's experiences in verse. And so, surrounded by copious sheets of paper that Eileen had written on over the years, her family decided it was time to bring them all together in one place. The book was a huge and very pleasant surprise to Eileen. So much so, that, in her usual fashion of writing verses about things that affect her deeply, she wrote a poem about her poems, which we have included in the book’s preview. Verses Of My Life records only some of the hundreds written by Eileen. From simple humorous stories about plastic bags and spiders, to more poignant stories about age and health, Eileen always captures optimistically the trials and tribulations of living in the complex world of today in an understated style which is simple and easy to read.
