Nelson County, Kentucky Marriage Index 1860-1950

This is a listing of the marriages which took place in Nelson County, Kentucky between the years 1860 thru 1950. They were published in the Marriage Register that was reserved mainly for the white population. It does however, have marriages of other races too. It contains 9, 192 marriages. I have listed them across 5 columns in this order: Groom's Name, Marriage Date, Bride's Name, Page # (in reference to the original Marriage Register) and lastly Notes. The notes column was used to furnish the reader with additional facts, such as reference to which race the couple was. The Notes column is not original to the Marriage Register, but the author's conclusions. During this period marriages were still segregated, but there are quite a few exceptions, as you will see, should you decide to purchase this book. It will make a great addition to any Genealogy Society, Organization or History Library.
