Elmo Lincoln Astor was born in the Bronx, New York on February 12, 1951, on Abraham Lincoln's birthday, so his parents, Elmo and Lillian, inserted Lincoln as his middle name. He graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1969 with an Academic Diploma, and quit college (CCNY) almost immediately in January 1970. He began working for a financial institution on Park Avenue, the first of 5 Wall Street related companies covering a span of 33 years. It was at this first firm that Lincoln, while living in Manhattan, met Yvette Diaz in 1974. They began dating in 1975, got married in 1976, had a daughter, Tennille Candice in 1977, moved to Elmhurst Queens, and had a daughter in 1991, Christine Marie. In 1998, after more than 21 years of marriage, Yvette died from colon cancer. Up till then, Lincoln had written 4 full-length stage plays. Since her death, he's self-published 15 more plays, 2 novels, 2 novellas, 17 short stories, and 17 books of poetry, as well as his autobiography.
