Vaarvaa: Minisaga for Badin and the Secret of the Saami

Vaarvaa is an historical fiction mini-saga (a story less than 50 words) about a Saami Shaman in ancient Scandinavia. It is also the first of a series of vignettes highlighting important concepts which are at the heart of the story to be revealed in the graphic novel "Badin and the Secret of the Saami." The minisagas are text-intensive and geared toward generating intellectual interest. An introduction by the author also explains the motivation behind the graphic novel and the mini-sagas. The forthcoming "Badin and the Secret of the Saami" is an historical fiction graphic novel starring Adolf Gustaf Badin and the leader of a unique band of Saami people. Badin and his companions find themselves on a fantastic journey in Sweden to preserve the survival of humanity. The historical Badin is known in 18th century Swedish history to have been the only man of African descent to be a member of the Swedish Royal Court. Saami people are the original inhabitants of Scandinavia and parts of Russia.
