The Book of Shemot, as a single theme, continues the commitment given to us at the revelation at Sinai. Imagine each Sidra being one chapter and one part of the bigger message. From the structure and build up of the book, one can learn a lot about the history of the Israelites, as well their future aims and prospective ambitions.
Accepting the covenant was only the first step on the never-ending journey. Once making the commitment, the book emphasises the theme of continuing it. In life, it is never enough to speak about an idea. One must combine it with willpower and apply the passion turning it into a reality. The theme of the Book of Shemot can teach us many lessons about the necessity to always continue working on our personal goals and commitments.
